Pokemon Emerald Redux:Blog #3

Starter Pokemon
Alright, time to talk Starter Pokemon.

Murkrow has been buffed to be a glass cannon with a great type. It beats both Abra AND Machop, but has less base stats to back up it's type. I improved Murkrow's movepool as well. Murkrow is the Starter for you if you don't like being beaten by other starter types, and if you like Dark Type pokemon.


Abra is an amazing special attacker. Need I say more? OK, fine. Abra is great against early game Gyms, evolves early, and has an AMAZING movepool in it's evolutions. Not to mention trade evolutions no longer exist. So what's the problem here? It isn't the best defense-wise. Pick Abra if you like having tough special attackers or just like the Psychic Type.

Machop is a great physical attacker, aswell as having a bit of bulk in it's evolutions. Machop can tear through early gyms, not to mention having Bulk Up along side some great Fighting Type moves. Pick Machop if you like physical attackers, tearing through early gyms, or you just love the Fighting Type.


Alright, all these starters have their ups and downs, but shouldn't you get 2 starters? This game has a double battle focus, so that makes sense, right? Right. So I did it.


Eevee
So, alongside your choice of Murkrow, Machop, and Abra, you also get an Eevee. Not much else to say.


Balancing
A lot of Pokemon that were near useless before actually got some use. Here are some of them (NOT EVERY POKEMON THAT WAS CHANGED IS ON THIS LIST!)

-Ariados

Pokemon Emerald Redux:Blog #2

Hey! I'm back with the 2nd addition of the Pokemon Emerald Redux Blog. Today is gonna be a pretty short one, with pretty big changes.

Double Battle Focus

Yep, this hack is MOSTLY Double Battles. I personally think Double Battles are much more fun than Single Battles, and I hope you agree. Every Trainer that normally had 1 Pokemon is still a Single Battle, as are Wild Encounters.

New Starters

Murkrow

Machop

Abra

Now, you might be saying "WTF?!?!?! THESE AREN'T GRASS FIRE OR WATER! 0/10" or "OMG ABRA IS USELESS" Don't worry. Each Pokemon starts with 1 move of their type AND this is another type trio.
Psychic>Fight
Fight>Dark
Dark>Psychic.

Murkrow starts with Pursuit.

Machop starts with Arm Thrust

Abra starts with Confusion.

Pokemon Emerald Redux:Blog #1

Heeeello! I am Matt, creator of Pokemon Emerald Redux. Today I'm gonna show you my first progress on what will become a hopefully good hack.
Day/Night Cycle

Yep. I added a Day/Night cycle to Pokemon Emerald. And while most ROMs don't support Internal Battery functions, I'm working on a patch to enable the Internal Battery.

New Trainer Colors

Ok, this isn't important for anything, I'm just trying to show-off. I personally really like the Blue and Yellow of Brendan and May.
